Last night I had the pleasure of feasting at Musso & Frank's of Hollywood.

This is the oldest restaurant in Hollywood and I can see why it's lasted over 100 years. The food was absolutely to die for. I actually could not pick a favorite dish from the smorgasbord we ordered.

My appetizer was a grilled portobello mushroom served on mascarpone soft polenta with mushroom jus. The polenta was delicious and soaked up all of the yummy mushroom jus.

The rest of my meal included grenadine of beef with bearnaise sauce, veal schnitzel with prosciutto, arugula and parmigiano, truffled mac and cheese, lyonnaise potatoes, and fresh asparagus with hollandaise sauce. I was throughly impressed with each dish and can't wait to come back and try more!

For dessert, a warm bread pudding with fruit and ice cream. The bread pudding reminded me more of a butter cake with its flavor and consistency. Not necessarily a bad thing since I love butter cake, but definitely not what you'd think of when you get bread pudding.

The reason they have been in business for 100 years is because they have excellent swordfish, excellent Pork Ragout and a perfect NY strip! Football sized baked potatoes. Exceptional service. Perfection on all levels!

It feels like you’ve been transported back in time. From the service to the aesthetic, the environment echos old Hollywood in all the best ways. If you’re inclined for some pasta, the fettuccine Alfredo is a good choice. And be sure and ask your server the backstory on that menu item; it comes with a great tale.

Absolutely extraordinary steak. The polenta and Portobello appetizer was just as tasty. They make really good Aviation cocktails, too. Loved the atmosphere - it felt like going back in time.

An amazing dining experience! We showed up early for our reservation and opted for a seat at the bar where Boris graciously hosted us.
He shared how he would do anything for the restaurant owners because of how well the have treated him, even throughout the tough covid times. And as a guest, you can tell.
His service was impeccable as was the chicken parmesan ????????- so delicious I could barely take a picture of it! A MUST visit when in LA.

We made reservations to come on Thursday for chicken pot pie. We arrived early & were seated right away. We were served 1/2 loaf sourdough bread & butter. We shared appetizer that was delicious!! My wife had martini and I had a coke that we both enjoyed! We both ordered chicken pot pie. They were filled with shredded chicken & vegetables, including potatoes and best we’ve enjoyed!! We ended with apple cobbler with ice cream and latte. There was a face on top of latte that was cute. We’ve been wanting to come here on Thursday for several years and worth the wait.

Amazing food and even better service. There’s a reason this place has been around for 102 years. For an appetizer, we had the shrimp cocktail. The cocktail sauce was delicious. Our waiter said there are 11 different ingredients in it. For our main courses, we had the scallops and the prime rib and both were amazing. We will definitely come back for special occasions.

Historic Hollywood in the center of the action. It's been in business 100+ years so it has to be good. It's where the famous came to eat; Sinatra, Wells, Pickford, Valentino, Fairbanks, Chaplin, Garbo, Brando, Monroe. So many more. The Menu is as long as my arm with choices to please anyone. You could eat a great meal just from the appetizer list. Great service to match. Come for the history, and enjoy a great meal!
