Great spot. People are awesome. The interior is cozy and comfortable-definitely a casual place. Come as you are.

I had the Smoke 'Em If You Got Em cocktail (and some shots-which...are shots), and it was really good (I'm not big into the sweet and sour; I prefer my drinks on the savory/sour side.) They have a range of drinks, and their knowledgeable staff will find one for you.

The food was good; it's what I would describe as LA-Mexican Pub Food. There's vegan options, and there's a number of fusion dishes that sit aside authentic Mexican dishes. Ultimately, the menu is wide, welcoming, and accommodating.

Overall, for a downtown restaurant with a good vibe, friendly staff, good food in the Mexican/LA style that's pretty affordable; it's a great spot for, at the minimum, a taco and a cocktail.

Cool place for happy hour. My coworkers and I enjoy the food and cocktail drinks. I enjoyed the chicken tinga taco ???? 10/10 service. A small selection of wines and beers ????

After 55 degree refused to let us downstairs because a party was expected and it would be too crowded (despite their sign outside saying otherwise), we came here. Second time here and I enjoyed it very much. Now that I refuse to return to 55 I'm glad we have other wine bar options not far away.

Great food, drinks and service. Came in on a Monday night, it was reassuring they had a covid vaccination check policy and tables were spaced out. It was quiet given it was a Monday night but still had a nice vibe, staff were friendly and gave great recommendations on food and drinks

The food is amazing!!! Tacos, So good. Fried Brussel sprouts are incredible. I highly recommend trying this place, it will become your new regular. I had the drink called "burnt offerings".... ended up having two. Didn't try the others but the one I ordered was smoky and unique.

So this place gets one star. I ordered the street corn and the three taco meal, two of the porks both different and the beef one. The corn was disgusting. It was hard barley cooked and literally tasted like nothing. There was no chipotle aioli sauce on it at all. The tacos were a complete waste of money. They had none of the toppings they are supposed to come with. Just meat, onion and cilantro one had some sauce as you can see in the picture. To be fair this seems to be a common theme with restaurants when ordering on doordash, they skimp the orders because obviously there’s nothing you can do. For meat and a tortilla I could of went to the food truck and payed 3$ for three tacos versus 15$. The meat tasted good but was dry as hell. Will definitely not order here or bother going considering they jip their customers when it’s already over priced.

Mezcalero DTLA feels like a neighborhood bar/restaurant. They have multiple locations but the one on Broadway in Downtown Los Angeles feels like a local spot. The bartenders and servers know their customers by name and treats them like they’ve known them for years. But besides the warm atmosphere, Mezcalero has excellent food. Their tacos are quite tasty. My favorites are the fried chicken taco, baja shrimp taco and the al pastor. Their crane asada is good too. If you don’t feel like tacos then try their chicken wings or their loaded beer battered fries. If you don’t eat me they have several vegetarian or vegan options. Aside from the food, Mezcalero has excellent drinks! Their house margaritas are great. I prefer mine with mezcal but you can’t go wrong with their original margarita. They have several specialty cocktails, which leans heavy on mezcal and tequila and have interesting flavors that range from earthy to refreshing and sweet.

Check out Mezcalero. It’s not the cheapest place to get good tacos or drinks but it’s well worth it.
