Monty Bar Reviews

Overall Rating

This bar has a slightly upscale punk/goth/hipster vibe. It doesn’t exactly feel like it’s strictly any of those things. A pleasant mashup of all. Crowd is always chill. A great spot to hit up before or after a show at the Teragram.

Favorite cocktail is the “Damned Louie”. Perfect amount of heat balanced with lime and a spritz of mezcal on top. I hate mezcal and this drink is lovely AF.

Been here twice so far, love the look of the place, and always great music playing.

Music is ok, they don’t have a big selection.

They have nice bartenders, but the DJ is very closed off to playing anything other than what they have.

They would be amazing if they played more consistent music and if they hooked up their drinks more.

Tom was chill af tho.

A friend invited us last Saturday night to meet her. Was more than pleasantly surprised. DJ was rather good.

The space has been renovated, so it's much cleaner and modern. Mackenzie's was a dive bar, so the feel of that is gone. Otherwise, the layout out is basically the same. Though they do have a lot of empty space in the middle of the bar. Maybe they could put more seating there for when it gets busy? I think we basically got the only table in the place.

I absolutely love this place! They are right around the corner from me and I could probably eat here everyday. Both the food and drinks are so delicious! I usually get the garlic bread grilled cheese with tomato soup. Every time it hits the spot! And I don't know why I crave their tortilla chips and guac everyday! It's a problem really lol. This is definitely a great spot. Would recommend time and time again!!

A great escape for me. The jukebox is terrific and most people have enough good taste when selecting material as to not make you want to throw up.
The drinks are simple and strong. As they should be. It's not top shelf whiskey and if that what you want... head elsewhere, please. As a drinker, I enjoy this place for the simple booze, good crowd, interesting characters and the anonymity of not being a regular.

I imagine if this place was open during the day, I would be a regular day drinker and essentially quit working.

This was the first bar that I ever went to in Glendale and has remained my favorite bar since. The bar staff is fun, energetic, and knowledgable. The atmosphere is lively but the music never reaches the point of "earth shattering" loud. I'd recommend to anyone looking for something new to try out in downtown Glendale!!

The best spot in the Westlake, Downtown area for drinks. Killer salloon vibe. Staff is super cool and its right next to the Teragram music Venue. Go dink,” Dont Blow It!”...
