I wish they could be more generous about matcha. All I tasted was milk.

Best coffee shop in the echo park area. Always consistent, always amazing.

Pretentious, judgmental, and classist. The coffee shop discriminates against lower class customers by refusing cash, demanding proof of vaccination and charging too much for coffee. Go to Stories instead.

I was excited to try Woodcat Coffee Bar because of the hype but it wasn't all that. The cheese sauce on the hot dog tasted pasty like you can taste flour in it. We shared a loaded fry and there was hardly any cheese and the cheese that was on there didn't melt also it was bland. We ordered the fried oreos and twinky to go and there wasn't any powdered sugar or cream with it like shown in the pictures. I won't be back.

It's a fine place. I didn't notice anything especially interesting but the staff were nice, I liked the chai and their baked goods were GOOD; I strongly recommend all their cookies.

I love this place and the people. A normal sized match is $8 though. That’s a hard pill to swallow when all the cafes surrounding it charge $7 for the same size. I really hope the owner reads this and considers changing it. Paying $9 for matcha while tipping is insane…

Covid friendly setup and the best iced latte I've had in LA. New favorite spot. They also roast their own coffee beans

Woodcat is, what I would call a utilitarian coffee house. Bare basics, concrete floor, steel sheet wrapped table tops, and woodish walls. Unfortunately on this day with a less than enthusiastic barista.
I wasn't greeted when I walked in, stood there for a minute, then found a table in the back and returned with my cup. I presented my own cup as i usually do (a camouflaged basic plastic Starbucks cup) and was charged $4+ tax, for one cup of coffee. For which, especially after tasting the coffee, was less than thrilled.
For the record, had i left my cup at home, and been presented with a new paper cup lid and sleeve, Woodcat coffee is $3 and $4 per cup, I requested a cup of medium roast, and was told that "all of our coffee was medium roast". The coffee I had was an unusually chocolaty/sweet black coffee.
I'd probably give 3.5 stars, but rounding down here.
