Place was amazing but parking is $15 PER HOUR. That’s crazy so I had to park 20 mnts away a from the start of the trail .

Righteous little spot tucked away high above the Griffith's Observatory in the G. Park. Located high atop a strenuous climb - if you go past the 'Berlin Forest' and continue direction 'Hollywood Sign' (coming from Griffith's
Observatory.), Taking the right fork of the first an gnarly fire trail that goes Up ⏫☝️???????????? then past a couple little switchbacks it'll be on your left up there...
Now, Apparently there's some easy way One could also use, where u drive up, park off of a Street in the Hills & then stroll down some palm tree-lined path to the Capt.'s
Roost- but where's the fun in going the easy route?

Such a cool spot. You can see downtown la and the Hollywood sign. Palm trees align this walk way where u can really get a great Instagram worthy shot.
Enjoy the views, enjoy the hike all while getting that shot. Fun times.

different hike in Griffith Park! Probably the highest palm trees in LA, great views of downtown, the hills and the ocean.

Captain's Roost used to be a lush garden with tables, benches, tall trees and plenty of shade. Sadly it burned down in 2007. Now 10 years has passed and they haven't attempted to re-plant it back to its former glory.
