Park at Griffith Observatory to hike to the Hollywood sign, free parking in the morning until maybe 10AM if I remember correctly. Trails are VERY POORLY marked, better have a good sense of direction, not many places to stop to pee so you have been warned....I suppose must people have cell phone navigation but I am not in the 21 century yet. A large portion of land near the sign was added to the park thanks in part t a rather large donation from the Hugh Hefner Foundation.

Overall it’s really great view! Good on a good weather day, of course there are more views but this one beats it all to me. You can see the pretty city and take pictures. But beware there was lots of animals, including a coyote and vultures! Just be careful. But overall good section to take those pics!

It was a hot day and took maybe 2hrs to hike up to Hollywood sign. Totally worth the 1x experience lol. Definitely walked round trip at least 5 miles. There is an observatory deck and multiple trails with varying difficulty to get up. Definitely a great workout. No bathrooms up on the mountains unfortunately. There is an observatory deck with bathrooms. Along with lower area free parking has bathroom stalls.

After having lunch and the Beachwood Cafe (highly recommended!!!) we went for a great walk up to the Hollywood sign.

It was a warm day however was well worth the truck up. You can’t get up in front of the sign but you can get up right behind the sign. There are ample opportunities for you to take photos on the way up where the sign is very clear. If you could do it I would say go all the way to the top, the view is absolutely rewarding and it is 360°

We passed several people however the walk up is not crowded. Make sure you bring lots of water on a hot day!

Beautiful scenic 3 or 4 mile hike round trip to reach the top of the sign. There are plenty of places beforehand to see the sign from up front. The hike is not steep. Parking can be tricky, my recommendation is to park near Hollywood Lake park and walk up, this adds to the total time about 20/30 minutes but it’s well worth saving yourself a ticket. The earlier you can make it, the better.

I got the rare opportunity to be escorted to the base of the Hollywood sign by the Hollywood sign trust foundation. They told me all about the history of this iconic sign. The original letters were built out of wood and flimsy metal. Since then it’s had many facelifts. The Hollywood sign trust it’s now the one responsible for maintenance and upkeep of this sign. You cannot walk down to the sign. I repeat you cannot walk down to the sign without being escorted by the Hollywood sign trust. There’s several surveillance cameras and the police will come and give you a fine. I highly suggest walking to the viewpoint behind the sign. It’s a steep walk but the road is paved and once you get to the top it’s the best view of Los Angeles.

Best place to get a picture of the Hollywood sign. You can either hike it up the top of the hill or take a taxi but it’s well worth visiting. You can hike down and see nice views.

Hiked on 12/12/21 via Brush Canyon Trail. Moderate uphill 6.5 mile out and back. Uphill climb most of the time, well maintained trail, no shades, bring plenty of water, can get hot in the middle of day. Free parking, parking lot A (bigger) and parking lot (B) small and closer to trail. Beautiful view of LA on top of Mt Lee.

Really great views, that you need to earn. Road is in rough shape if you're biking up. A mountain bike or gravel bike is recommended

Hollywood Sign - HOLLYWOOD landmark on the southern slope of Mount Lee in the Santa Monica Low Mountains in Los Angeles, California. The letters are white, 14 meters high, and 110 meters long.

The most famous Hollywood sign in the world, located on the slope of Mount Lee in Los Angeles, is clearly visible from virtually every point of the "City of Angels".

The Hollywood Hills inscription is for many people more than just the nine white letters that make up the name of the Los Angeles district. It is one of the most recognizable symbols in the world.
A sign of success, fame, money and a dazzling career that anyone who crosses the threshold of the dream factory dreams of.
