Nice outing at an OK price. Merchandise is way overpriced. Be prepared for about a 5 mile trek. I recommend purchasing the tram ticket. Lots of exhibits are closed or too far out to see the animals. Take it for what it is worth and keep in mind there are nice areas to sit with lush landscaping and flowers. Six foot social distancing for us but 12 feet for the animals?

It was very fun of a visit. My girls had a lot of fun. it was not too crowded. It was very clean. A lot of animals are easily visible. All the employees were very friendly, respectful and serviceable. We were greeted with smiles when we came in and when we left. We are definitely wanting to go back. The prices were great and food was very readily accessible everywhere.

Parking is free, and it's easiest to buy tickets online instead of waiting in line. The zoo can be done in a sort of loop with some exhibits you need to go off the main loop for. Many exhibits had additional fencing for COVID safety for the animals. The elephants in the middle are somewhat hard to see, depending on the angle you view them. There's a tram but requires payment.
Overall a good zoo to introduce you to animals you wouldn't normally see in Los Angeles.

I always enjoy going to the zoo and the other events that they have like zoo lights are worth it it's not as small as you would worry it would be. You are allowed to bring your own food and snacks into the zoo so long as you don't throw it at the animals in an attempt to be that tourist. All in all it's a great place to go and they keep it very well maintained. Sadly the lions and a few of the other exhibits have passed in the last couple of years and not been replaced.

Very nice place to go with kids. I would recommend to get tickets online. Take quarters and pennies for the zoo coin machine. Strollers are available too
Double $14
Single $10 also wheelchair available.
It's easy to get lost I ended up walking the zoo 2 times.

I was kind of disappointed. First time in 20 years going, it's probably not good to go in the off season after a global pandemic. A lot of things were closed or run down. Various displays had no animals. The good stuff though were the primates and big animals. Food was surprisingly good for a zoo. My son had a good time. I'd do it again but I hope they can make repairs and bring stuff back.

The zoo is very big. It can take a day to see every animal. The Australia House is closed due to COVID-19. And visitors need to keep a longer distance to see many animals in the zoo. All these measures are fine to me. But I can't stand throwing the whole boxes with food inside to animals. The bear and chimpanzees area are too dirty. There are milk boxes, juice boxes, shoes boxes and Amazon boxes in their cage. That is definitely a prison for those many chimpanzees.

This review is for the L.A. Zoo lights during the holiday season. I came on a Sunday night thinking it wouldn't be as crowded, but it was still pretty crowded. They did a great job of only letting people in at their designated times. The lines appeared long, but once your timeslot was open, the line moved quickly.

The lights were very nice throughout the zoo. I went to the San Antonio Zoo lights and the experience was very similar. There were various areas with different themes. There were food and drink stations throughout the zoo. Was a nice way to see holiday lights while supporting the zoo.

My kids and family, we all loved the LA Zoo Lights show, its fun and entertaining for all ages! This is a walk through experience, so you will have to walk a lot and it's cold, vaccination card is required, be prepared. There is food inside and outside the zoo, restrooms ???? around the tour, so, no excuses, enjoy. Enough parking spaces. Highly recommended ???? ????.
