One of my favourite things to do in L.A.! Difficult-ish hike as it's mostly uphill and the path is narrow and rocky in areas, however it's 100% worth it - the views were simply breathtaking. You can see over both the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles Basin. Great views from the Wisdom Tree and from behind the Hollywood sign. Hiked the rest of the way to Griffith Observatory and it took around 3 hours. Bring plenty of water as there aren't any refill spots on the way. Not much shade either so sunscreen is a must.

Beautiful place! Worth the hike up. It's not to long maybe 1 mile up. Definitely recommend it.

Good little speedy hike to get your blood flowing. Not overwhelming although you are going uphill the entire time. Can't see the Hollywood sign but the view is better than looking at a sign.

Can get crowded so go early or later in the evening.

Parking gets busy too so again go early or later.

Wisdom Tree is the BEST hike in town. It's super technical (lots of rocky, uneven ground), short & sweet (~700ft climb in a 0.7mi ascent), easily navigable (no turns nor forks), and super accessible (TONS of parking on Lake Hollywood Drive). Want an extra challenge?-do it twice! (or 5x! OR 8x! Or carry weight! Or carry a friend!!! ???????????? find me on Strava). Final note: BE NICE TO THE TREE????!!!

Wonder View Trail | 2.9mi | Medium | 1,050ft - Start at the intersection between Lake Hollywood Drive and Wonder View Drive where you can leave your vehicle and walk up a quiet residential street to the Wonder View trailhead. From here it's a 700 foot climb up a rocky foot trail to Burbank Peak and the Wisdom Tree - apparently the only tree on the hill to survive a 2007 wildfire. Check out both the Warner Brothers and Universal Studios below you to the Northwest.

Proceed East along the ridgeline and over Cahuenga Peak to complete your outward journey to the summit of Mount Lee and the Hollywood letters. The trail remains narrow throughout with occasional minor rock scrambling.

This hike will lead you behind the Hollywood sign and to the top of Mount Lee. The sign itself is fenced off and under video surveillance but there are plenty of opportunities for mostly fence-free photography. Also check out the Hugh Hefner Overlook just off the junction with Wonder View Trail. Hefner was a strong supporter for conservation of the Hollywood sign and hills.

Trail is steep and rocky from the trailhead up to the Wisdom Tree. Hiking shoes would be a better call than running shoes. No shade to speak of on the trail, so plan accordingly. You can access the back of the Hollywood sign from here; it's only about a mile and a half from the trailhead one way, but you have to park down the street so you get a good warmup.

Really a fanatic hike. Get on at the gate and the end of wonderview road. It is then right by the water tank. Great hike, can be tricky, lot of loose sand if recommend hiking shoes or boots. Can be very steep at times. Totally worth it at sunrise! Parking is on the street

Trail is extremely steep but also short. Wear your hiking shoes and bring a walking stick. It's worth it, once you get to the top.

What an amazing trail with wonderful views! Be ready to climb because it's definitely not a stroll in a park! ;) You'll get a great workout and it's definitely worth it!
The terrain is very rocky and sandy, not a lot of shade so be careful and bring a lot of water if you do it on a hot summer day.
We did this hike with our two kids 6&8 and they did much better than me. Lol
We chose to come down by following the road because it was getting dark, which was a much longer way but it was safer.
