I live in New York and have spent many hours in dive bars in the east village and alphabet city. I love Burgundy Room. If you go right when they open, you have the bar nearly to yourself for a while. The playlist has been excellent and sets the right kind of dive-bar mood. Bartenders have always been just the right amount of standoffish for me.

I hope management sees this, its specifically for Taylor. She was absolutely wonderful. Amazing customer service, very fast, clean, and kind. She kept her cool with multiple rude customers, remembered our names and our drinks, and was very accommodating. The place is great too, it's dark and cozy and if you can get a booth (careful with the step up!!) You are golden! They played great music too. Would absolutely come back :)

Found this place a few years ago on New Years Eve after driving down from the bay area with some friends, we came back for 3 straight NYEs.
Now writing on Dec 31, 2020, we're hopeful the Burgundy room powers through this pandemic and we'll be able to return for another New Years Eve.

The bartenders who work at Burgundy are horrible and need to either be retrained or fired. In the reviews, I see people over and over again complaining how awful the customer service is. Both the bartenders from the night of 6/29/19 need to be fired immediately. I live a couple of blocks away and I will never set foot in this place ever again!!! The bartenders were completely in the weeds looking like fools and everyone was waiting like 20 mins for drinks. The couple next to me just shouted their order in the bartenders face so he made them drinks. I put up a beer asking for one to say I want the same thing and I guess the bartenders small ego was hurt and he said I was cut off out of nowhere. Then a friend of the bartenders threw a drink on the couple next to me and some got in my hair as well. When I told the bartender someone threw a drink on at least three of us he started laughing and walked away. I bartended for over a decade in several different states including Vegas and I have never seen anything as disrespectful as this by the staff in any club or bar ever in my life!!! Who is running this place??? The bartenders are horrible and lack respect for the customers as a whole. Who do these people think they are? Stay as far away from this place as possible. Nobody is managing these awful people and they need to learn some respect!

I'm not exactly sure why it has a single "$". I went there and asked for their "well" or cheapest Scotch they had. He handed me a bill for almost $15. For me....that's kinda steep for a shot to be advertising a single "$". I don't drink Pabst so maybe I just ordered the wrong drink. However..It's a cool, dark, rock music bar for sure. Don't forget your wallet tho.

If you need to read a review to decide if you should go here it may not be the place for you. It's a dive bar with a lot of rock n roll types as customers. Everyone is super friendly and the drinks are good. Since Loaded closed down this has become one of the major hang outs of the rock scene in Hollywood. If you like rock music you should be there drinking Jack and beers....get going!
