BADMAASH Downtown LA Reviews

The service and food at Badmaash were great. The dessert options were seasoned a little heavily for our taste - with the exception of the classic Parle G ice cream sandwiches. Wine and beer selection were limited during our visit but nice additions to the meal.

Great restaurant! I had read great reviews and happened to be in the neighborhood and got the opportunity to go.

I am definitely coming back soon! The samosas are killer. They have a traditional and a butter chicken one. I personally preferred the butter chicken one as it complimented the sauces better. As a table we got the short ribs, chicken tikka poutine, and ghost pepper vindaloo. Also we got the rosemary naan.

The food was incredible. The service was great. Parking was a little difficult but it wasn't too far or too expensive

Was recommended Badmaash by an Indian expat friend who swears by the place, and it didn't disappoint.
Walked in without a reservation on a Thursday night, prime dinner time and were seated right away.
Ambiance was nice and inviting, not too loud and the lighting was slightly dimmed.
Ordered the yoghurt puffs, butter chicken samosa, butter chicken, paneer tikka masala, plain naan, basmati rice and raita. All washed down with some ice cold Kingfisher beers.
The food was really tasty, my only gripe was the naan was a little on the dry side and there could maybe be a little more protein in the curries.
I regret not asking to get the curries spicy, there was pretty much no heat at all in the dishes, so if you like your spice like I do, you should probably specify you'd like it spicy.
Service was perfectly attentive; not too much, not too little, and also very accommodating. Friendly and welcoming throughout our entire visit.
Food all came out in a timely manner with just enough time to enjoy the appetizers before our main dishes arrived on the table.
There are vegetarian and vegan options, you can sub the meat for paneer etc.
Rice, naan and condiments are a la carte, I'd say the rice and naan are just a little bit pricy for the portion size, but no big deal.
I brought some leftover curry home and spread the sauce out on top of a pizza I got for lunch..so damn tasty????
Will definitely come back, more than once.

One of the best Indian dinners I’ve had in a long time. Excellent food and service. Great wine list. Often I have a hard time finding things that are vegan and vegetarian but it was a perfect experience especially for dine LA! Definitely will be back!

I was so excited to go here for my birthday trip but it was really disappointing. I been to several Indian fusion restaurants and this one might be the worst. This restaurant is for people who probably have no idea about what Indian food is and what it should taste like.

Restaurant Name , menu is something that catches attention but you can probably find better Indian food almost anywhere else in la or orange county. It does have some unique items in the menu ,that's what drew us to this place , but authentic Indian taste is missing. It's largely an Indian fusion food place and not an Indian food place . We tried multiple starters and all were something you can easily find same or better anywhere else . They still check for vaccination proof that was a big plus.

The samosas are very good, so is the naan and the assorted pickled veggies were an amazing addition to the prime rib. I think the fried chicken was good, but i would've wanted some kick.

Here I am, a Korean guy from Fremont, who’s had his fair share of great Indian food. Living in LA, I’ve begun to crave Indian food, and the scene just ain’t the same here. This is my first foray in years and I have to say, the food didn’t disappoint. The butter chicken and naan were on point, wish I could just have that on endless supply. The beef short rib (beef?! ????) was a little salty. The major knock for me was that you have to pay extra for naan and rice! Not used to that, but I guess that’s what you gotta do to pay big city rent.

Ordered takeout today, and got the Chana Masala Poutine and the chili cheese naan. Both were very unique takes on Indian food and were well seasoned, with a great balance of spice and cheese. Food was a bit expensive, but worth it. My only suggestion would be to add cheese curds instead of white cheddar to the Chana Masala Poutine to make it more true to the Poutine moniker.
