Was brought to El Compadre while visiting my cousin. This is a great Mexican food spot!
The ambiance and decor is charming and funky...it definitely adds to the experience.
Most importantly, the food was delicious from the chile verde to the chile rellenos to the margaritas, everything was excellent!
I'll definitely be back whenever I'm in town.
The food was wonderful!! The staff was quick, efficient and kind. I got them enchiladas Verde de pollo. Which was a great pick. The food came fast. The atmosphere and music were amazing. Part of the time there was live music as well which was a nice touch.
The only downside is they do not take reservations for 2 people so be prepared to wait. We were told 25-30 minutes for a wait but it was over an hour. But if you're willing to wait it's worth it.

Los Angeles classic. Great food, better margaritas, and an excellently charming band. (I think they've been playing there for over a century). ;) If you haven't been, you need to do yourself the favor.

Fantastic hidden gem of an authentic Mexican restaurant with plenty to come back for. The salsa is full of flavor and well-developed. Serves Pepsi products.

Place is very dim inside. Took me 10 min for my eyes to adjust! Hostess wouldn't seat us until we had at least half our party there. Even though they had our table ready and the place was not busy. Woman's bathroom was dirty and cramped. The food and margaritas made up for those negatives though! Amazing margaritas. I had a coconut pinapple one and it was the best I had. There were bits of coconut in it. Apparently they don't use any syrups and its all natural liquors and flavorings. Also so fun that it comes out flaming. The guac was really good. Big portion and super flavorful and fresh. I had a steak quesadilla and loved it. Very cheesy and the steak wasn't chewy and had a great flavor. I had the whole thing. $15 the flan was very good too for dessert. Not too sweet and a good consistency.
Server did a good job catering to our large group and coming back to take more drink orders.
I would come back again!

First time trying this place out, and sure glad we did. Was seated very quickly, took a little while to order, and get food, but was definitely worth the wait, my burrito was out of thos world good, and my wife said was best chili relleno she has had in a long time. Definitely will recommend this place, and be back for sure

Love the old school décor. The seating is beautiful! The service was not great at the time we were there (just before closing) and the food took a ridiculously long time to come out. Lighting is very dim, so it could be a romantic place to eat, it's just very loud. Fun place to get together with friends though.

El Compadre is great! Ambiance, live Mariachi singers, delicious food and amazing drinks! I was there for my daughter’s birthday.

Beautiful restaurant, the couches , the colors . Service was ok , the server had lots of tables ( they also have a sign outside saying that they are looking for staff ) anyhow , we ordered the shrimp cocktail the Camarones Empanizados (fried shrimp ) , a Rib Eye and 3 micheladas . Food was decent but nothing out of ordinary and the drinks probably were the best part of the meal . Also the complementary nachos are always nice to have, the salsa pretty spicy and delicious .

This is my neighborhood Mexican food spot and honestly I don't come here enough. The chips and salsa are ????, drinks good (they're known for their flaming margaritas), service always friendly and really fast, it's almost alarming how fast the food comes out, and of course the food is ???? too. They don't take reservations and it does get very busy at night/weekends so be prepared to wait.
