I stopped in for lunch when I was in the area. My friend and I placed an order them went outside and sat down at some tables. They brought out our food and were very nice and friendly. I got the patty melt sandwich and a soda. I asked for it on sourdough bread and it was very good. Hot and fresh tasting. My friend got a Ruben sandwich and he liked his very much also. I highly recommend Farid Restaurant. We both had a great lunch.

Great Koobideh! Probably the best I have had in LA and OC area! Definitely try their Koobideh and their mast o khiyar. Their prices are very good and the location is also very unique in the middle of the downtown LA. I would highly recommend Farid Restaurant, especially for the travelers!

Pretty sure this is the best Persian food anywhere in downtown. There are Mediterranean and Persian restaurants skittle throughout downtown LA, but this one serves the best koobideh I've ever had. The texture of the meat is so tender, so moist, and well seasoned. This will be a regular lunch spot for me!

I'm really hesitant to give them 5 stars only because it's my first time coming here and 5 stars are earned with repeat visits or spectacular experiences. But goodness, I almost gave them 5 stars.

I really am picky with Persian food. I grew up eating it a lot.
My husband and I were at the Jewelry District hunting around and it was time to eat. I had seen another Persian food place down the street first and had my heart set on Persian food. We showed up to the place and, god, they were so rude about being closed (even though we were able to go in and sit before realizing they were closed). But this isn't about them.
Ended up finding this place on chance, walking back to browse for another place.

Happy find! First off, we didn't realize they were on the last hour of closing. We didn't realize it because we didn't feel rushed! We weren't the only ones there, but still, the employees were AWESOME with the hospitality and service.

The food, omg, that basmati was so delicious! Took me back to my childhood. Mom will love this place when I bring her! The meat, omg, the meat, I'm salivating just remembering how juicy and tender this meat was. Bravo!

You gotta come here. But come early. I think they close early (look at the hours I suppose lol)

You know what, i'm changing my rating. 5 stars it is!

As a big Mediterranean, Greek and all that kind of food fan, I was very impressed with the Persian style done up here.

My buddy Carlos recommended it as a place he had frequented back in the days when his lunch hour could pass like a couple good episodes of Seinfeld would have surly done to anyone in 1997.

It provided a place to find refuge and solace from trying to keep up with the street preaching gig he had on the same block.
It is in

"Goddamn" I said. "Lets check this place out!."

We were. both silently eager to see if it holds up after all these years and. without anything to retreat from.

Guess what?

It did!

I had the beef sandwich which was basically a donor kebab but with a little Persian twist I can't really explain other than to tell you to give it a shot in the mouth and see what comes of it.

The way salmon is cooked is a delicacy here. One of the best places around town for grilled salmon. If you're looking for halal only food, you could try both the options of salmon and the lamb shank is halal as well.
