Even before the pandemic, this was one of the cleaner Chinese food restaurants in the area. If you know where Howling Rays is, then you won't have a hard time finding this place. It is located on the 2nd level by Tea Ren side of the plaza. I've been to this place many times before during lunch, but always forgot to write a review. Let's first talk about parking. Parking entrance is on Hill Street and you enter a driveway just before the plaza. It is all underground and very tight. Don't forget to bring your parking ticket as they will validate for you in the restaurant. We recently visited with the whole family and ordered the following: Pork Chop with Spicy Salt, Pan Fried Green Beans, Fried Sole Fish with Salt/Pepper, BBQ Pork, and Beef Chow Mein. Everything tastes great and service is usually very fast. Keep in mind pricing is more expensive on weekends and is all day dinner pricing. If you go during the workweek expect lower lunch special pricing. It seemed like portions are the same so if you can go during the work week, definitely do so. White rice is usually included with any dish you order and is unlimited for your party. They also provide a green hot tea that is good to drink when you are eating heavy and/or greasy food. Service is what you would expect in a DTLA Chinese restaurant. No nonsense, tell me what you want and I'll get it for you attitude. Don't expect a 4 or 5 star customer service. Food comes out quickly and you are eating before you know it. Portions are huge and prices are great. You will have tons of leftovers. The restaurant seems fairly clean and being on the 2nd floor allows a lot of light into the dining area. The restaurant will provide you parking validation stickers, but be sure to get enough so you don't have to pay out of pocket. They are usually generous when offering up parking validation. When leaving the parking garage, you exit off Broadway. There is a parking attendant in a booth right before you exit. Be sure to watch for pedestrians on the sidewalk and utilize their concave mirror they have mounted up above the exit. You don't want to hit some elderly individual or worst yet a kid running across the exit driveway. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a sit-down restaurant that is not super crowded off of Broadway. And after lunch, you can grab a tea or your favorite slushee/cold drink and Ten Ren Tea downstairs.

Location is on the second floor of a shopping complex right after you get off the escalator. Tables were spread out and they had a tank with live seafood, which you will find a most Chinese restaurants. We ordered about 10 dishes for take out including beef chow fun, Singapore mai fun (vermicelli), salt and pepper pork chops, and green beans. Prices were very reasonable, portions were good and they tasted very classic cantonese. Will be back again for take out. Indoor seating is available, but we like the convenience of takeout.

Wonderful place for chinese food in chinatown in one of the few restaurants left!
Located on the 2nd floor right next to the escalators (sometimes doesn't work, but there's an elevator in the middle).
Parking underground and the restaurant does validate so of the parking or can try tk find street parking cause it is a small undergeound lot.

I always get the deep fried sole with soysauce which savory and delish

I believe they also have lunch specials, so its a great weekday lunch option if youre in the area

The waitress is always nice and friendly to us.

We were tired touring in the downtown entire day and quickly found this place. The place is a bit hard to find, somehow hidden in a China town food plaza, not very commercial at all compared to Korean city we went yesterday. So we thought we probably made wrong choice and better lower our expectation. It actually turned out to be the smartest choice we have ever made in this trip! Absolutely one of the best Chinese seafood restaurants we’ve ever had in the U.S. The lobster is so fresh and delicious! Staff were very nice and kind! We enjoyed every meal and even got traditional red bean soup as desert for free! I will say this - If I live in LA, this restaurant will become my favorite place and always want to go again! Definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to LA for great Chinese food.

This place is a hidden gem that offers fantastic chinese cuisine at affordable prices. While the hipsters while away their day waiting downstairs for fried chicken, spend your day more wisely enjoying the lunch specials and specialties of the house. I highly recommend the roasted squab but be aware: you need to order the day before as they need time to prep it. At current time (late 2018), each squab is $15. Juicy, flavorful, crispy, the squab has a rich gamy duck flavor without any of the excessive fat. The lettuce wraps, filet mignon cubes, and crispy salt and pepper pork chops are excellent supporting dishes. Lunch comes with a free soup that is tasty and light.

To start WOW. This restaurant in Chinatown has to be one of my top favorite restaurants to come to. Let me explain the food came very hot and vegetables, meat and sauces were incredible. I was amazed with so much food and the pricing. Next time I come to a Dodger game this is the spot for me for some incredible Chinese food. You must try this restaurant for yourself.

- bit Americanized but still has the roots
- underground parking is somewhat hidden to the side, just a single car entrance
+ no frills place to get food.
++ cheap -- we paid 9 bucks at the end (this included tip and tax) and were stuffed (7 people).
+ food labeled in price tiers and very affordable
+ validates parking, after extended time is

Food was OK, the soup is a bit salty, the portions a bit small, the sweet and sour pork was dried and not sour and not sweet enough. However it's pretty much as good as you get in Chinatown these days. The place is small, when it get crowded, it's pretty hard to get around.
