Overall Rating

I've eaten at this restaurant for many years. There have been several ownership changes. I ate at the restaurant today for the first time since before the pandemic. On a good day, the food is really good. But unfortunately the kitchen can be a little inconsistent. Over the years, I have found that the food has become more generic and less authentic and well-spiced. The attention to detail in the kitchen has changed over the years, they used to have some really good Asian Chefs there. I suspect that's not the case anymore. Overall, it's not the best value, although not terrible, and the food is a little Bland.

Nope. Took one bite of the « spicy » fried rice and threw it away. Very bland food can’t even pretend I enjoyed that. Nice place though.

I just picked up our dinner, 4 items, they were all bad, 0 taste, no spices and the vegetables were mushy. So disappointed $70 for something that I can’t even enjoy.

This food is truly disgusting. I ordered king crab fried rice and it was peas in the rice!!!! And no crab. Like no flavor at all. It’s strange. Idk who taught them how to cook but this is not the place to go ever. I ordered NY style egg rolls. Nowhere near NY style. Like just a farce honestly and waste of my time.

My wife and I went here for new years eve dinner.. The food and staff were amazing and this is one of those rare restaurants that's always consistent..

I used to love this place but I ordered delivery tonight and it was SO bad! My egg rolls weren’t burnt and greasy, the fried rice was over cooked and had way too much egg. Nothing was good and now my stomach hurts. So disappointing, I’m from the east coast and this was my favorite place in LA for Chinese food. Never again!

My favorite Chinese food in LA. Not authentic, it’s New York style Chinese food. Love sitting inside, great atmosphere. Don’t skip the egg rolls or Queen chicken

I've been going to Genghis Cohen for years and it hasn't changed much in all of that time. The service is typically fantastic and the food is your classic NY style Chinese food from the 80's and absolutely delicious. A few of my staples are the Firecracker Shrimp, Queen Chicken and either a noodle dish or fried rice.

Delishionaness awaits!

Hugo is the best and deserves a well earned pay raise. Upon inquiring him on the menu iteams and his suggestions he paused and smiled. The little pause! priceless! EVERYTHING is good here I tried and loved the entire menu he said.

Hugo,my friend, that's inaccurate for It is great! I picked up lunch for both my good friend and I.

It was refreshing to both my senses including sent and taste.

Enjoyed a delicious dinner here. Walked in with no reservation and seated straight away. Ordered egg rolls, chicken pot stickers, kung pao chicken and pineapple fried rice. All dishes tasted great and full of flavor. Only thing which would of been better is they offered a smaller serving of the fried rice.
