Overall Rating

I dined in with my family on February 13, 2022. Everything was great: the meal, service, and quality of the food. HOWEVER, there was a problem with the bill. My bill came out to $301.13. I used my credit card to pay the bill, and I left a $50 CASH TIP. I made sure to fill in the tip section on the merchant copy of the receipt as ZERO. I personally handed the bill back to the server and thanked them for the meal.
TWO DAYS LATER, I check my card statement and there is a 341.13 charge on it. I still had the receipt and I assumed that there was a mistake. I called the restaurant and finally got through. It took me 10 tries to get connected. (they refuse to answer any phone calls). The manager told me that they "accidentally" added another table's tip to my bill. The manager apologized profusely and told me that he would take care of the situation. He told me that the $40 will be credited back to my account in 3 days. HERE WE ARE A WEEK LATER. NOTHING IN MY ACCOUNT.
I tried calling several times with no luck. I do understand it is $40.00. I can afford it. However, it is the principle and $40 is still $40.
I am pretty irked by this situation. I don't have to luxury of driving out Koreatown since I live 40 minutes away. I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!

Super good! Pricing is a bit high and portions tend to be on the smaller side. You go here for class and ambience. Great service, nice classy place to bring guests or have a business meal. They hardly ever pick up the phone, thus hard to make reservations which they do accept. Seems that the hostess is also a waitress so the reception desk is usually unmanned, lack of staff, but they sure work super hard. Expect to spend $30-100/person.

Put your name on yelp reservation before you go! I had to wait about an hour on Saturday evening but it was totally worth it!

I wasn’t too impressed by dry aged prime rib but cotedeongsim was really good and so did mul neng myeon.

Let me just tell you this place is too spot. I have been to many Korean bbq locations but this one is just over the top. Great customer service. Price is a bit high but totally worth every single penny. Definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Not the vibe I was expecting. I was very confused. Meat tasted very good but was expecting more options. I like when I cook the meat myself. The meat platter was $250 and way over priced and not enough sides. Menu was very limited. I think they used lard on the grill so seemed very heavy! The wine glasses were the wrong shape for the style of dining. I didn’t like that they didn’t give us serving spoons with the rice. The chop sticks are metal and heavy. Horrible. Decor was nice but way too bright. They should dim the lights a bit. There was no ambience or mood. The menu sort of lacked authentic Korean cooking. I left full but wasn’t the best Korean grill in LA that’s for sure. Would not recommend.

Best tofu stew! Absolutely delicious. I didn't eat and of the k bbq - I know, what a faux pas - however everything was so tasty.
Service was super nice to, but the wait time is pretty long. It's worth it though!

Don't get me wrong, the meat were delicious and I can really taste the spices in them. The reasons I am only giving this a 2-star rate is because they control on how and when you can eat your orders. We paid almost $400 but we could not eat them as how we wanted. Not all customers can eat medium rare/well but when we were putting back the pieces of meat for extra cook, the servers kept removing them and putting them to a plate and telling us that they were ready to eat. What the heck?! Yeah, they were ready to eat maybe for them but not for customers like us! When we tried to hold the tong to flip the meat, they kept getting it from us. They were very controlling! They will decide when to put the meat in that metal pan and they will decide when you can eat them. You know the feeling when you have a strict professor and you cannot move during lecture or else you will get a punishment?! That's how we felt. I looked around and all customers were just watching their food while servers were flipping them. Nobody had a courage to touch the tong. I felt like we were in Twilight Zone.

Each time we talked to the servers for more drinks or extra plates, we were not done talking yet and they were already leaving. There's no acknowledgement if they were really got our orders. Which mostly they did not come back with our new orders.

I do not mind paying a lot as long as I enjoy my food and eat the way I wanted them. I paid for the food, my meat, my decision! If you wanted to pay a lot and still going to enjoy your food, do not go to Jeong Yuk Jeom Korean BBQ. You will get disappointed.

This was my first time here. I usually go to Gen and I thought of trying a different place. It’s definitely upscale and pricey. Meat quality was great. But the service was really bad. I wish I could give a 0 star. Servers had no training in customer service. They burnt the meat while grilling and he came back to the table and just stArting chopping off burnt side. He never even apologized. I asked twice to talk to the manager. They never called the manager. I won’t be back!

This BBQ joint is not only upscale and classy, but also modern, but most of all, is mindblowing. It oozes modern Korean BBQ authenticity while delivering on a cool and refreshing atmosphere. Previously you had to choose between authenticity vs being in a smokey floor-sitting environment. Not anymore.

The ribs were phenomenal with amazing marbling. It literally melts in your mouth. The beef soup is out of this world. Dogani also is prepared with excellence, not too soft but adequately chewy. And finally the raw beef is divine. All of this with a very reasonable price.

If you are in DTLA, this is it. Make a reservation.

They didn't have the tartare sushi that I wanted, so I ordered the tartare bibimbap and the neongmyeon LA galbi combo. And oh my goodness. So. Good.

Best food I've had while visiting LA this entire time. Absolutely stunning presentation, clean & fresh tasting ingredients, and not too bad a price. Come visit this place for a weekday lunch if you can, it's quite good!
