Sham Indias Oven Reviews

Indian spot located on the 2nd level off of Wilshire. When I typed the name in, Google maps took me to the one on Westwood, so make sure you’re putting in the right address if you’re intending to go here. Very limited street parking. Credit cards accepted. They do take reservations but when we went on a Thursday evening at 8pm, it wasn’t necessary. Masks required and they do check proof of vaccination, although they wanted a picture of the card and didn’t accept my digital CA QR code.

Food is family style; the tandoori mix grill was a good way to get a variety of meats/seafood. The butter chicken was tasty. The peas pulao was a good complement to that sauce, though I preferred the garlic naan. They do serve alcohol. It’s good for big groups and they had a TV playing music videos inside. They were open fairly late on a weeknight, so it’s a good spot to get some food if you’re in the Brentwood area and get hungry, but don’t have a reservation anywhere.

Shams indias oven is soo good Best chicken tikka masala ive ever had, will always be one of my top 3 favorite foods i think i will ever eat and ive tried other places. Indias oven prepares all their food with so much care its never been bad or cooked poorly perfect everytime, even when getting take-out the food is always great unlike most places, they do not use cheap containers like styrofoam. 10/10 sooooo goooood

India's oven is the BEST Indian restaurant in LA. I have been going for the last 4 years and the staff truly feels like a second family. Their service is unmatchable and the food is absolutely delicious! They have something for everyone. I have recently moved to San Diego, but I still make it a point to stop by for dinner when I'm visiting in LA.

We stopped by India's Oven for my husband's birthday before heading to the airport. It was the perfect way to end our vacation! The food was absolutely delicious and was prepared quickly. The service was great, and the staff was very helpful and kind. I would highly recommend this restaurant for Indian food!

A beautiful space on the second floor! Sham (the owner) has a really personal touch and excellent food sense. Don't miss out on the garbanzo beans! Lots of vegan and vegetarian options.

I am a regular consumer of Indian food, prepare it myself and have been to India a few times. I came with 2 Indian friends who share my opinions in this review (but are too kind to post their own).
Firstly, the wait staff were very nice and attentive.
The atmosphere is cheesy but pseudo formal.
The food is terrible. Dal is the simplest dish to make and these taste like Taco Bell beans. The chai was expensive and lacked flavor. The saag taste previously frozen and was completely bland. I requested spicy and it was 0/5 spice level. The rice pudding was actually repulsive. The rice was under cooked and tossed into a thin, watered down coconut milk. The biryani should not even be called biryani. I also felt sick to my stomach for the rest of the evening after eating here. I’m not often inclined to leave poor review but I’m quite surprised that this place has 4.5 stars, it is not deserved as far as food quality.

It was such a pleasant experience to dine in here Sunday afternoon! Great food, great service, very friendly and polite staff and a nice modern design. Our waiter recommended Chettinadu Mix Veg for me (I’m vegan), and I loved the dish. Also it was so nice of him to give a little complimentary lentil dish to take with us. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask his name.

Amazing!! Was hesitant at first when arrived due to location however looks can be deceiving inside the restaurant had a very modern look. The food was prepared beautifully and tasted just as good as it looked. Will be back again. Thank you for a great lunch!!
