A busy and compact, yet intimate place that serves some of the best Korean soul food in LA. The Galbi Jjim is on the pricier side, and I think they recently upped their prices? (Bc I thought I remember it being less than $70) But I still highly recommend the Galbi Jjim here! The meat is amazing and is deliciously flavorful. You can adjust the spice level to your preference, and get cheese if you want. I got the medium and it was definitely filling for three people. Also, I love how the side dishes (banchan) were so good as well. The banchan here taste more authentic than the banchan they serve in many other ktown restaurants. Good luck with parking and beating the long lines… but once you have a bite of the Galbi Jjim, you won’t regret it!

A K-Town institution! Coming here late at night was a great idea after the TWICE concert. I ordered the beef neck soup, and the pieces of beef were nice and juicy, and full of gelatin. Now, they provide scallion and salt in small sauce containers, so you have to ask for more if you need it.

This place is good and clean and very generous in servings! Valet parking is available for $2. Ordered for to-go and they packed it very well. Staff are friendly but needs more improvement when it comes to customer service.

Overall, very good. Luckily it was not too busy when I came by the restaurant. The white soup is very flavored and deep, all of the side dishes is great.

When I came into this place, I was as lost as a Latino in the middle of Koreatown... mostly because... well, that's exactly what the situation was :D. Thankfully, I wasn't alone. I brought a Korean American friend with me and let me tell you, this place is as authentic as it gets. The Galbi jjim (short ribs with cheese) was the main star of the show. It was too much food for just two dudes, so me and my friend just decided to get the Galbi Tang (beef short rib soup), and the Chadol Sulung Tang (ox bone soup), but as luck and divine grace and favor would have it, right next to us, a group of three sat and they ordered the Galbi jjim and as they randomly made small talk with us, they offered us a bit. My friend declined it but being the shameless extrovert that I am, I took them up on their offer and helped myself to a small short rib. That small piece of heaven convinced me that I should be back to this place sometime in the future (hopefully with a larger group so that we can actually order the Galbi Tang myself and we can all enjoy it with gusto!). Our food was also amazing and the purple (or brown?) rice with some of the added kimchi is truly amazing. Highly recommended place!

Parking is an unconditional valet service. Parking fee is $3. The food is sweet. There are a lot of customers on the weekends, so waiting is a must. There is a breakfast discount menu.

The place is kind of like a hotpot spot. I really loved how the beef brisket platter had so much meat and that it already came with 2 bowls of rice. We didn't know what to expect, so finding out it was in a soup was a good surprise. I love hotpot anyway. However, I do think they should at least mention it in the menu for other people who just come in. The service was also good as the employees were quick and friendly. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because the soup was honestly very bland. We had to ask for some soy sauce to at least put some flavor in it. The kimchi itself was also just okay. Still a nice experience tho.

Food was served fast and very hot with a healthy purple rice! The soup first with many greens inside. All the sides; jalapeño, kimchi and onions. The star was the the braised short ribs!!!! Awesome! By far one of the best meals I’ve had out. Excellent services.

To celebrate hitting 10k views in the past 90 days on Yelp, I'm posting the first 10/10 review on the page. This was the best thing I ate in California. Ordered #25: Koh Galbi Jjim medium spicy and added cheese and rice cake. This dish has braised beef short rib, back rib, and ox tail. The sauce was a combination of sweet, spicy and salty. It was a combination of flavors that I've never experienced before. Was a bit expensive, but worth. A must try dish in the LA area.

Popular Korean spot for short rib plates. It’s been featured as a top LA Times Spot/Jonathan Gold fave and the crowds reflect that distinction. No reservations are accepted. There’s valet parking or you can try your luck with street parking, but you’ll have probably have to walk a bit. Credit cards are accepted. Single occupant bathrooms are available in the back by the kitchen. Indoor dining and takeout are available (no outdoor alternatives). Note that the tables are really close together; you can go with a bigger group, but I think six would have to be the absolute max.

You put your name on the paper and then you’ll get called to place your order so there’s the food is ready for you by the time you get seated. We opted for the galbi jjim with cheese (extra cost). A medium size fed four hungry girls perfectly. You have the option of either white or brown (purple) rice, and can customize the spice level. Get the purple rice. You also receive a couple of appetizers (kimchi and greens in our case) in addition to a sauce. The meat was bone-in and the dish was very flavorful - I can see why people would wait an hour for food.
