The grilled pork buns changed my life. I’m a huge fan of pot stickers and dumplings, these were almost like giant fluffy pot stickers with sesame seeds toasted on the bottom. Unreal!

What a lowkey, under-the-radar little spot in LA! I’ve been craving some good Chinese food, without having to venture all the way to 626. My friend pointed out this place existed (also originally from SGV). And I was delighted to find out, it lives up to its name! You kno you’re at a good Chinese restaurant when their menu has 200+ items ????. The portions are so generous here, each dish packed with aroma and flavor, and actually pretty decent seating. Just beware, parking is not friendly in these parts of town if you don’t already know.

Great casual spot for homey Chinese food! We dropped by after landing at LAX for quick lunch and almost missed their lunch hours.

We ordered Mapo tofu (which was part of the reason I wanted to try this spot), cumin lamb, and a big plate of Shanghai rice cakes.

So the mapo tofu verdict: good but not going to be the sole reason for a revisit. Their version has light heat and bean flavor, tofu as silky cubes, with a sauce that wasn’t too thick.

We dined outdoors and weather held up well thankfully.

I ordered pan fried dumplings/ pork potstickers, Mongolian beef, xiou long bau (soup dumplings), and chili wontons.
Service was fine. The food was just not very good. No soup Ib the xlb, noodles in all dishes were bloated, the beef tasted fishy. Like fish and was fatty and lacked a pan wok preparation. The prices for the area are reasonable but if there’s somewhere else that charged the same or slightly more, I’d try it first.

Ordered takeout on the phone for pickup. Food was ready in 15 minutes! My sister and I ordered:

-Green onion pancake
-Shanghai Style (Pork & Veg) Chow mein
-Eggplant & Mushroom with Basil
-String beans with house sauce

To be honest, as a Chinese American, the food was OKAY. Not out of this world amazing, but not too bad either. For some reason I feel like their Sawtelle location tastes better? I didn't really like their green onion pancake--too fried/salty for me, the string beans were okay...a bit soggy, not crunchy like how I like it... chow mien was meh okay...nothing special... not that flavorful or something... eggplant was okay... greasy but not that amazing... I don't want to sound harsh but it was just... okay. Wow I have said okay over three times already I don't know how else to describe my opinion other than that. Food was decent I suppose but nothing special. Big portions, food was ready fast, pleasant ordering/pick up experience. I wish I could give them a higher rating but 'okay' is better than 'could have been better' right? I mean, it could have been better but I appreciate the pleasant ordering experience and customer service.

Overall, I feel like another restaurant called Kung Pao Bistro in the area is more delicious. I don't think I will be coming back to this location, but to their Sawtelle location if I am craving Chinese food again. For some reason their Sawtelle location hits different.

Delicious Chinese food with lots of vegetarian options. Very fresh and more authentic than others. They have outdoor eating and the service was great. We ordered vegetarian buns and the spinach and tofu skin dish - both delicious and kid friendly.

Great food, very nice decor, seating inside and outside. The outdoor seating is well protected from the infrequent rain and wind. We had pork dumplings and vegetarian dumplings, both excellent. We also had eggplant with mushrooms and tofu with seafood, also excellent. They have valet parking. I highly recommend this place.

I was in the mood to get some authentic Shanghainese Dumplings and this spot didn't disappoint. They were intact and very juicy (which is key to good Shanghai Dumplings).

I also ordered the Pan Fried Dumplings after reading them in a local food review. I was disappointed in the taste or lack thereof. The dumplings were a little too large and had a hard texture.

Shockingly good Chinese food this side of the San Gabriel Valley. Everything tasted pretty legit and is a welcome addition to the area. Friendly and attentive staff too!

They should rename this tasty dumpling house! Cause the pan fried dumplings are amazing! The rice noodles are super filling and packed with porky goodness.
