Beautiful place to visit to take pictures and anything in general! We got there around 4PM and it was starting to set already, but was well worth the time.. only thing sucks is because of the parking. They have a small parking lot that is FCFS and you would have to pay for parking, which is very cheap (if i remember correctly it's less than $5 and i believe they accept cards too). If the parking lot is full, would have to drive down a bit and park on the side of the road next to the houses (car facing South) and walk down to the site. Highly recommend!!

This place deserves 5 stars as a place but the parking is horrible, so is the parking lot.

I really enjoyed walking around and spending time at the beach. That part is extremely enjoyable.

Parking is impossible, and if you have a car be careful about the potholes. You would think given they charge for parking they would take care of the lot.

I recommend going but just park on the highway if you are with adults, if you are with kids, skip this place. Too dangerous to try and navigate the parking situation.

Parking lot has limited spaces. The best way to get parking is to wait for someone else leaving the beach. The view is stunning because you can see both mountain hills and beach not far away from the parking lot. Parking is $3/hour or $6/hour or the whole day (I don't remember the fee for the whole day). 2 hours was more than enough for me to enjoy the view without swimming or playing in the beach, just walking through the beach. There were portable public restrooms, although I didn't try it and therefore, I can't comment on its cleanliness. Beach hour is only until sunset.

This is a nice beach. I went here and was satisfied with my experience. This beach isn’t very wide, and there are bluffs on the edge of it. Because of this, there are two staircases connecting the beach with the parking lot. This beach is nice and sandy and has a natural arch that looks really cool. There aren’t many waves here so the sea is pretty calm. I gave this beach five stars because it looks very nice and has a cool arch.

Great place to take photos but this location is crowded. Only draw back is the tiny parking lot. Worth the small challenges as my clients love the photos and videos that we take there. Best to go during the week if you can.

Came out for a family wedding during the week. With light traffic, it was about an hour drive from Los Angeles. A few hours prior to sunset, the parking lot was only about 1/3 full. However, closer to sunset, the parking lot was completely full. There were a few groups for weddings and photoshoots, but there were many areas that made for a great backdrop.

It's about a 5 minute walk from the parking lot down to the beach. There are several stairs, but they're not steep and easy to navigate for all ages. Once down on the beach, there's plenty of nice areas to walk, take pictures, or just relax. Some areas do have larger rocks which may not be suitable for kids, but they add character to the beach. Nice place for a beach wedding or photoshoot.

Spectacular view from the car park. Staircase lead to the beach down. Be careful with high tide. There is no room between the shoreline, you will get wet. Stunning landscapes with catered rocks into the sea. Saw dolphins.

We arrived at El Matador Beach after the ENTRANCE gate closed at 5 PM but there were several cars in the parking lot and the EXIT gate was open (and we had just driven 40 min to get there) so we went in the EXIT. It was getting dark so my son and nephew walked down the steps to the beach. It was really cool with nice sand and rock formations to climb and tunnels to go in. My only regret was we didn't get there earlier so we could spend more time exploring.

Beautiful beach with huge rocks that make it stand out compared to other beaches! Great for photo ops too. They have a small parking lot so highly recommend going early in the day. It's about $10 for all day parking.

Also, recommend hitting up Broad Street Oyster Bar if you're heading back Pacific Coast Highway to Santa Monica! Great lobster rolls in a small plaza shopping area too!
