Bizarre and wonderful. Plan to come more than once because there's so much to see! Don't read too much into it, just come and experience the weird!

It’s like walking through an occult-adjacent fever dream of eclectic historical oddities that absolutely HAS to be owned and run by a 700 year old vampire.

I used to really love this place. So cool, innovative, weird, bizarre, and most of all fun. But they're really proving to be a bastion of archaic methods and thinking. In an age where the businesses around them as well as the county, country, and seemingly majority of the world encourages healthy people to go back to their lives, the MJT asks that you muzzle up your questions and do what they say.

So: this place is like The Onion curated a museum of science and history (the name should clue you in at the outset. I sort of got the joke at the outset, but it didn't fully land until I'd spent a while perusing the exhibits. This place is weird, with what I think is a smattering of truth at least upstairs on the way to the lovely rooftop tea garden. This place is a weird, constricted, maze-like little roadside attraction, and you should check it out if that's your speed, just be sure to explore the whole thing.

If you're reading reviews to figure out whether to visit:

- Do not spoil yourself. Don't look up anything else about it.

- Just visit this museum.

It might bore children under 12 (though there's nothing inappropriate), but it's otherwise fine.

The most interesting, and peculiar, museum I've ever been to. It's my third time here and, like a great novel, you can return a dozen times and always find something new, some little detail you didn't notice before. My BFA daughter and I spent 3 hours exploring and we probably viewed a quarter of the exhibits. Yes, a museum about museums.

Very unusual yet cool place... Go in with an open mind and lots of wonder.. Tea on the rooftop with the singing dog was a great way to unwind after visiting the museum itself.

Came here for day date with my boyfriend and loved it ! Definitely a place full weird oddities, highly recommend and spend a couple of hours and watch the movie that you first come and see to your left hand side . Bigger then I thought ???? and the gift shop is small but quite the collection if you want grab something .

This is a magical, deeply sentimental place. For me, the experience is less about the "museum" collections and more about the curious and familiar feeling of ease and contemplation you get from wandering what feels like a maze of melancholy. It's possible that the museum hasn't gotten around to fixing some of the broken exhibits, but I like to think that it is an intentional choice - forgotten exhibits among forgotten objects and feelings. To say I love this museum would be an understatement.

One of the most interesting and mind boggling museums I’ve been too. Worth the photos you will get, but even more the memories

One of the highlights of my LA trip, went there out of curiosity, if you love well curated eclectic stuff, you will love this museum. Twa on the roof is a must. Go!

Really an amazing place. I have to say, it's not for everyone. But, if the idea of exploring a collection of oddities in a somewhat off-kilter environment sounds appealing, then you'll love this place. It seems like it would be the collection of some (very) eccentric Victorian gentleman. Like others here, I'm not going to go into detail on the exhibits because exploring is the fun part. But, tea and cookies with the pigeons on the roof was a highlight!

It's weird; quirky in a good way. Several interesting sections, but other things were either broken down or without any explanation. Don't expect a world-class institution or you'll be very disappointed.

Not sure how to rate this place. Bizarre collection of stuff, not anything obviously Jurassic or Technology. Many exhibits, so many that you may find something you like. Also many that had bad lightning and/or bad audio. Maybe it supposed to be a parody of real museums. I dunno, just dunno. Can't in good faith recommend it.

This eccentric museum of oddities is a must-see and I have frequented it many times. I always find new and interesting things out here. Bring Clorox wipes , now, though; there are many exhibits that require you to put a phone to your ear to hear the narration.

When people ask what unconventional spots to hit in LA, I always name this place. Went in 2019 and had the most amazing experience. Wonderful, fascinating and odd exhibits. I think about this museum frequently and how curious it was. Highly recommend dropping in!

I think this place is great. It is quirky, interesting, and full of many different things to see. Some are pretty amazing and others.not so much. The concept is strong and it has some really interesting exhibits. I wouldn't bring little kids here though. Both our children are high school age and they liked it. Little kids might not like it so much. It is way larger than you would expect.

So this place came highly recommended to us and maybe I’m not getting it but I found it to be rather random and weird - not good weird just perplexing weird. There is a strong Adams Family vibe that makes me think something creepy is going down in the back rooms and the eerie staff seem to enhance the whole ghost-like atmosphere. It was okay, definitely memorable and something I will think about for the rest of my entire life. Thanks.
