great place for kids for the summer
This is a really awesome museum. My friend and I have been trying to visit this museum for years and we finally got the chance to this time around. We reserved our tickets online on the website. The tickets were free which was great. Getting to the museum wasn't too bad. I thought it was gonna be a pain since it's pretty close to downtown, but it wasn't bad at all. As for parking, we decided to make it as simple as possible; we used the garage under the museum since they can validate if you're visiting the museum.

This is definitely the most "LA" type of museum you can go to. Very fun to explore and walk around even if you're not a die hard art lover. The types of art they have here can inspire a lot of conversation. There's Andy Warhol's iconic pop art (Campbell's chicken noodle soap and Marilyn Monroe), Barbara Krueger's progressive feminist art, Takashi Murakami's cartoony explosion of color type of art.

Quaint little center in the middle of a neighborhood. We went to see the Black Doll Exhibit. It was unique, inspirational and beautiful. Definitely will be back for this exhibit and upcoming events.

The people here are great and they welcome everyone! Mr. Ameeca is the most patient person he has tons of energy and is so sweet. The girls at the desk are always so sweet and helpful and genuinely caring this place is sacred to me and my kids we love everyone there and appreciate what you are doing for the community!

The hours on the website and front door of building said they would be open when I visited. However, it was completely closed.

Simply a gem of a community center. Parking is rough, but who cares? Their exhibitions are funky, unusual, by and for the people. Go learn something new about things you take for granted!
