LA Historic Park - 5 ????!

A great DTLA park! A bit hidden in relation to the downtown core. But they host great events. I was there for a lovely art show. There are lots of great views and plenty of space to wander around.

A beautiful downtown park, that LA has beautifully renovated for a bright future. It’s perfect for a quick workout, picnic with friends or a date. Plus it’s right off the gold line and about a 1/2 mile from Union Station.

Love this place, very spacious, perfect for dogs. Busy but doesn't feel crowded maybe because there isn't much shade for large crowds. Also small parking and fills quickly. My dog loves it. Bathrooms are clean and water fountains all around. Very clean, if you bring your dog please pick up after them.

Honestly one of my favorite parks in all of LA. A bit of a gem given that it's Chinatown adjacent. Unlike other parks, this one feels like a "city park" with a downtown skyline view and the metro gently passing by every so often. Lots of different pockets for a picnic with friends, and wide open spaces for walks with the pup or maybe some frisbee. Small restaurant to grab a bite or a beer, plus multiple public bathrooms, make this an A+ park my book.

After reading the reviews of our fellow Yelpers about this park, we have been wanting to come and take some pictures of the sunset of downtown LA. On Boxing Day ( a Canadian Holiday) we went to Highland Park Brewery in China Town and accidentally discovered this hidden gem which is right across from the brewery.

We were so glad that we got there before the sunset as park would have closed at sunset. It looked like a lot of of families came out with their children and dogs to enjoy outdoor activities.

Although it's located in DTLA, the park is vast. There is plenty of grass areas for children to run around and the dogs to catch their frisbees.

At sunset time, there is a hill and a bridge where you can have a clear view of DTLA sunset. I snapped some photos of the sunset. It was nice to be out in the open.

It's a nice park with plenty of open space. Since it's pretty new the trees are still small so shade is somewhat limited. We went on a cool November day so it felt great! The picnic tables are on the right side of the park (park and go right and straight).

If you're visiting, please keep your dogs on leash per local laws. There were a few that would come up even though our dog doesn't like other dogs. Help us keep both dogs safe!

This park was not what I expected. Since it's in a not so clean area of Los Angeles, I was expecting it to be like Elsyian Park (weirdos). But to my surprise this park is well maintained and the views are pretty epic. Alot of open space to just hang out and take a walk. Also, this has to be the 2nd hipster park I ever been too. Echo Park is #1 hipster. You cant bbq here and restrooms are available. Nonetheless, it's alright and it has some art pieces so I'll come again.

Awesome event this weekend real big beautiful park lots of space lots of green lots of history there and I really enjoyed the whole landscape and geography of the entire place! Great great place to bring the family friends and everyone else who wants to get out in the open green and see what a beautiful Park this place is! Always huge events here and I was fortunate enough to be part of one of them which was Porter robinson! One of the coolest experiences I've ever seen in my life! Electronica music is new to me and the memory will be forever here at this park the first time seeing this live performance with this type of music was all the reason to be excited!

A well maintained length of land with plenty of space for any activity. There’s a lot of neat landscape design all around.

Though I wish they had more playground-like installations scattered around, it’s still fun to enjoy on occasion. It’s also walking distance from some breweries and Chinatown for those looking to stay nearby without having to move the car ????????
