I enjoyed my experience at this Nicaraguan restaurant the waiters were very caring and c courteous The food was very good. I only took pictures of the appetizers and forgot to take a photo from the main food... pricey but I was not disappointed. I enjoyed it...♡

I live in OC and I've been going to the same nicaraguan restaurant for couple years however I stumbled upon this restaurant and we decided to come here for my dad's bday. I was amazed! The location is very nice , clean and friendly. The staff were very kind and even a worker on lunch acknowledged us and welcomed us even if he didn't have to. We had a drink my favorite "Cacao" it was sooo good I had to take one to go!! We had the "Fritanga". It was a great mixture not to overwhelming to look at. I will definitely be coming back and do not mind the 50 min drive.

Food was good very close the the food back home you almost can not tell, but i do haha, service was good, not bad i do recommend

When you try their food, you’ll feel at home! I absolutely loved the taste of this restaurant. It’s amazingly authentic and upscaled. It made me really happy to visit them. The place is decorated with various Nicaraguan symbols and has a family atmosphere. The food was delicious and has a good value. Big portions, small price. The menu has a whole lot of options and the patio area is just fantastic. It was full. So freaking full on a Sunday’s afternoon. The food took more than 35 minutes since the moment we ordered. Service is really slow and they barely check on you if you need something. Besides the fact that they’re so understaff. This place is great.

Spicy octopus starter was fantastic. Bottarga pasta and uni pasta were amazing. Lamb and shrimp were incredible. The owner was so sweet to come by and say hello and thanks. This evening the Warriors lost, but we won with this jewel!

Amazing food & service. The food is so good that after you eat here you will automatically speak fluent Spanish so take the $$$$ you were going to spend on Rosetta Stone and eat here.

I spend $89 on food and drinks and I still had to pay for valet parking when I parked my own car and to top it all off, no one saw who hit my car. The host, waitress were so rude. The entrance do not have enough lighting. I twisted my ankle . Food was ok. Micheladas was nasty .

When you walk into Portobanco's and see the families seated at big tables and others waiting for them to free up, you realize how far the humble beginnings of this restaurant have become. If there is any place in the city that is the center of Nicaraguan gathering and community, it is probably this three year old restaurant. As the city opens back up after a disastrous year, it is nice to see dining rooms like this start to look like they used to.

The food is only surpassed by the service! Don Heberto ????, Fabiola, Mayra, and Jayson... treat you like esteemed family members. I travel all over the US and find myself lucky whenever I find Nicaraguan food. This is the best Nicaraguan food - outside Nicaragua - I’ve ever had. The menu is complete, the flavors are fresh and authentic, and the service is warm and efficient. If you are looking for some great Nicaraguan food, nice environment, and A+ service... give Portobanco’s a chance... you won’t be disappointed!
PS: We came in twice and tried Tostones, Baho, Quesillos, Tajadas, Empanaditas de maduro, Nacatamal, and Buñuelos - all amazing!
